13-year-old Cody Alicea made national headlines recently when school officials at Denair Middle School ordered him to take down the American flag on the back of his bike while he was on school property. Apparently "some students" had been complaining about the flag. Cody had just been trying to honor military veterans such as his grandfather Robert. Well, it turns out that Cody's story struck a major chord with veterans across the United States. As Cody rode his bike to school on Monday, he was accompanied by hundreds of other bikes and motorcycles. After arriving at Denair Middle School, Cody and his patriotic escort recited the Pledge of Allegiance and the National Anthem. It was an extremely emotional day for everyone involved, and it showed that there are still Americans out there that are willing to stand up for the U.S. flag.

Fortunately, this story has a very happy ending. The school has changed its mind and now Cody can ride to school every day proudly displaying his American flag.
When the day comes when a 13-year-old kid in America cannot put an American flag on his bike and ride to school we will all be in deep, deep trouble.
A big thanks should go out to all of those who rode with Cody Alicea today. In every generation there will be challenges to freedom, and in every generation there must be those who are willing to stand up and fight for it.

The folks that live in this community should vote those that supported removing OUR Flag from this childs bike should be remembered at ELECTION TIME & VOTED THE HELL out of office. Period… If you don’t agree with me move out of this country & go back to the shit hole you crawled out of !

America is no longer a great country to live it. It has become a totalitarian police state of a sort that the world has never seen before. It’s a train wreck about to happen and nationalism disguised as patriotism is only making it worse. What’s more the fact that we deify just about anyone who wears a uniform, such as young Cody Alicea seems to doing, is also making the problem worse. The situation in America is similar to that of Germany in 1938. (And yes, I know about Germany because I live there and have been here since I got out of the US army.)
